WowYow's Contextual Exchange
Google wanted to promote their search engine and keyword ad business, so WowYow ran its Pre-Roll For Search format on its publisher base, leading audiences to Google's search landing pages.
Client: Google
Industry: Media & Advertising
About: Google is the most-used search engine on the World Wide Web across all platforms, with 90% market share.
Product: Contextual Exchange
Google's search engine is so expansive, and there's so much potential for audience engagement. They needed to promote their search engine and keyword ad business in a new format and reach new audiences.
WowYow used the first-of-its-kind 'Pre-Roll For Search' ad format offered through their Contextual Exchange. WowYow's Contextual Exchange is a network of advertisers looking for ad space and publishers needing to fill ad inventory. What does this mean for Google? It means that WowYow had ready-to-go publishers who had plenty of ad inventory for Google's ads. WowYow ran the new search ad format across its publisher base, driving traffic to Google's search landing pages. This process is automated through WowYow's Contextual API, making the advertising process extremely smooth for all parties involved.
WowYow uses contextual data, metadata, to bring audiences relevant ads. For example, if there is a pre-roll ad for car insurance, the user can interact with the ad by clicking on the screen, leading them to Google's search landing page for car insurance.
WowYow was able to use 20,000 Google keywords, reaching 2 billion search pre-roll views and 19 million landing search page views. The keyword of this case study: success.
